Privacy policy

Protologue is a public reference. You can read it, download it and query it from AI tools without an account. It runs no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts of its own.

Website (protologue.com)

The site is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request (IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We look at these only as aggregate statistics, such as daily page views and which crawlers visited. Protologue itself sets no cookies. The one piece of third-party code on the site is the newsletter sign-up form, which is loaded from Beehiiv; Beehiiv may set its own cookies when the form loads, under its privacy policy.

MCP server (mcp.protologue.com)

The MCP server answers lookups from AI assistants and agents. It requires no account or API key, and its tools are read-only. It does not store your queries in any database. Cloudflare, which runs the server, keeps short-lived request logs (time, request details and any error messages) for a few days so that faults can be investigated; these are not used for any other purpose and are not shared. The AI application you use to call the server has its own privacy policy, which governs your conversation with it.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is collected and stored by our newsletter provider, Beehiiv, which sends the emails and reports aggregate open and click rates. We use your address only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent personal data, build profiles of visitors, or share data with advertisers. Sponsors or partners, if any, never receive personal data.

Retention

Hosting logs are kept for the short periods Cloudflare uses for operations, typically days. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
